Jeffrey Mitchem

Jeffrey Mitchem has 25 years working in the real estate development and homebuilding industry. He has served in the Controller/V.P. of Finance role for the #1 Homebuilder in the US on three separate occasions. Most recently, Jeff served as the V.P. of Finance and Operations for Lennar Homes, Orlando. During this time, he oversaw the accounting and finance aspects of the acquisition of Cal-Atlantic homes. This combination led to the total annual output of the Orlando Division of over 3,000 homes and over $1 billion in revenue. Projects include several major master-planned and highly amenity centered communities in central Florida such as Champions Gate, Storey Park, and Storey Lake.

Previously, he served as Division Controller and Southeast Region Controller for D.R. Horton, Orlando. He was part of the implementation of the Emerald and Express brands in Orlando which expanded the homebuilding product lines vertically to gain additional market share. For 15 years, Jeffrey served as Division Controller/Director of Finance for A.V. Homes (formerly Avatar Properties). Jeffrey oversaw all accounting and finance functions for the Florida markets in Orlando, Tampa, Port Saint Lucie, and Jacksonville, while also having an impact on day-to-day operations. During this period, we experienced growth from 200 homes to over 2,000 homes delivered annually. Major project involvement included the Poinciana PUD in Osceola/Polk counties which encompasses over 10,000 homes and over 50,000 residents in 10 villages; the Solivita master-planned active adult community in Polk County which will include over 5,000 homes at build out as well as numerous amenities including over 200,000 sq. ft. of clubhouse and restaurant space as well as two 18-hole championship golf courses; the Bellalago project on the shore of West Lake Tohopekaliga in Osceola County, which will encompass 2,500 homes and also includes amenities such as an internal man-made lake system with a boat lift that connects the community with Lake Toho.

Jeffrey Began his career in real estate/homebuilding at Centex Homes in Jacksonville, FL. There he served to help grow the division and took on numerous IT/software projects. During this period Centex acquired Palm Coast Community Homes and he was sent to this new market to help with the Centex integration and start up.
