Salesforce Transit Center
A groundbreaking regional transportation and mixed-use development in downtown San Francisco.
Lincoln Property Company was selected by San Francisco’s Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) as the Asset Manager for the Salesforce Transit Center, a major regional transportation hub in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
The Lincoln team is responsible for the efficient operations, maintenance, activation and renovation of the terminal, as well as the leasing and build-out of the Center’s more than ever 100,000 square feet of retail space. The ~$6-billion project replaces the former Transbay Terminal at the city’s First and Mission streets with a modern, multipurpose transit hub.
The project features a one-of-a-kind, 5.4-acre rooftop park offering public access to a wide range of activities and amenities, including an outdoor amphitheater, gardens, trails, open grass areas, children’s play space, as well as a restaurant and cafe.
Lincoln has applied a variation of activation and value-add strategies with local vendors, including yoga, Zumba and other fitness classes and events provided by Fitness SF; live entertainment events at the Center’s open amphitheater venue, such as Bollywood Nights, Halloween Silent Disco, Midday Music, Ballet in the Park, Rooftop Jazz, beer garden trivia, birding walks, DJ workshop jams, drum circles and garden tours; and family-friendly events with SF’s Blue Bear School of Music.
In addition to being a generous amenity for visitors and the rapidly growing Transbay neighborhood, the City Park complex doubles as a “green roof” for the Transit Center, one of the development’s many environmentally-friendly features. The site also accommodates bike storage for approximately 600 bikes.
The TJPA also committed $4.75 million to fund the acquisition of artwork to be featured throughout the transit terminal.
