A world-class life science hub rises in Boston’s historic Seaport District.
Following an extensive RFP process, Lincoln Property Company was chosen by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) for its proposal to create a world-class life science destination—including a game-changing commitment to help advance Massport’s diversity, equity and inclusion model. In addition to developing a purpose-built lab, office and retail complex, Lincoln’s vision included a stand-alone Life Science and Technology Training Center, with an ambitious mission focused on training for skilled jobs in life sciences and adding talent to the pipeline of opportunity in the exploding life sciences sector.
With over 650,000 square feet of lab, office, retail and community space, Seaport Circle combines the thriving innovation and technology hub of Boston’s Seaport with Marine Industrial Park’s burgeoning life science ecosystem.
The project’s two-tower design offers state-of-the-art Class-A lab and office space, best-in-class tenant amenity spaces, 5,000 square feet of retail space, and outdoor terraces offering panoramic views of Boston’s skyline and waterfront. The development, which is pursuing LEED Platinum designation, also features large column-free flexible floor plates and below-grade parking.
The project also includes an incubator lab, located at the base of the main building, and community training labs, located within a standalone Pavilion. These spaces are designed to foster the growth of emerging companies—and help train underserved residents who might not have a clear pathway into working within STEM industries.
Diversity is at the core of the Seaport Circle project. Lincoln’s joint venture partnerships in development, construction, design, operations, and financing have represented 40% soft costs and 37% hard costs with minority- and women-owned firms. Lincoln has also established a $20 million minority investment group fund that furthers our DEI commitment to the Seaport Circle project.
